Richard F. Griffin, Jr., General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board, today announced the appointment of Paul Hitterman as Regional Attorney in Region 13, Chicago, Illinois.
A career NLRB employee, Mr. Hitterman had been serving as a Deputy Regional Attorney in the Chicago office. In his new position, he will assist Regional Director Peter Sung Ohr in the enforcement and administration of the National Labor Relations Act in Cook, Du Page, Kane, Lake and Will Counties in Illinois and Lake County in Indiana. Mr. Hitterman succeeds Arly Eggertsen, who has retired from the Agency.
Paul Hitterman is a 1985 graduate of DePaul University, with a B.S.C. degree in business administration. In 1988, he received his J.D. degree from The Columbus School of Law of the Catholic University of America. Mr. Hitterman started his career with the NLRB in 1988 as an attorney in the Division of Enforcement Litigation in Washington, D.C. He transferred to the Chicago office in 1991 and was promoted to Trial Specialist in 1996. He became a Supervisory Attorney in 1997 and Deputy Regional Attorney in 1999.
The National Labor Relations Board administers and enforces the National Labor Relations Act. It investigates and remedies unfair labor practices and conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees desire union representation.
