Richard F. Griffin, Jr., General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board, today announced the appointment of Stacee Smith as Resident Officer of the Agency’s Nashville Resident Office, which reports to the Atlanta, Georgia Regional Office (Region 10). In her new position, Ms. Smith will assist Regional Director Claude T. Harrell in enforcing the National Labor Relations Act in 46 counties in middle Tennessee and 40 counties in Kentucky.
Ms. Smith, a native of Tennessee, received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology in 1995 and her Master of Business Administration degree in 1999 from Middle Tennessee State University. Ms. Smith began her career with the NLRB in April 2000 as a Field Examiner in the Nashville Resident Office and she was serving in that position prior to this appointment.
The NLRB administers and enforces the National Labor Relations Act. It investigates and remedies unfair labor practices and conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees desire union representation.
