Office Information

Regional Director

Welcome to Region 13 of the National Labor Relations Board. We conduct elections, investigate charges of unfair labor practices, and protect the rights of workers to act together, serving parts of Illinois and Indiana from our office in downtown Chicago. If you have questions or wish to file a charge or petition for election, please visit our office or call and ask for the Information Officer on duty. We can arrange to have someone speak with you in the language of your choice. We are also happy to provide speakers and materials to promote a greater understanding of the National Labor Relations Act.

Check out the NLRB Region 13 Facebook page for the latest information on complaints, as well as ALJ and Regional Director decisions, from cases in the Chicago Regional Office.

News From the Region

The winter months have been a busy time for Region 13’s outreach efforts. Our staff provided presentations for various organizations and community groups. Below are a couple of the highlights.

On November 13, 2013, Liz Galliano and Liz Cortez provided an overview of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) to the U.S. Department of Labor- Office of Federal Contracts Compliance Programs and Wage and Hour Divisions.

Richard F. Griffin, Jr., General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board, today announced the appointment of Paul Hitterman as Regional Attorney in Region 13, Chicago, Illinois.

Again this year the Chicago Office of the National Labor Relations Board will participate in the sixth Labor Rights Week.  Labor Rights Week is an initiative to increase awareness and inform the Spanish-speaking community of their labor rights and the resources available to them.  In addition to the NLRB, other federal and state agencies as well as community groups will participate in this event.   For questions, you can contact the Chicago Regional Office at 312-353-9158.  Also, additional information can be found on the website for the Mexican Consulate of Chicago,
