Effective May 5, 2014, Rhonda P. Ley is Acting Regional Director of Region 6 - Pittsburgh after the retirement of previous Regional Director Robert W. Chester. Welcome to Region 6 of the National Labor Relations Board. We conduct elections, investigate charges of unfair labor practices, and protect the rights of workers to act together, serving western Pennsylvania and parts of West Virginia from our office in Pittsburgh. If you have questions or wish to file a charge or petition for election, please visit our office or call and ask for the Information Officer on duty. We can arrange to have someone speak with you in the language of your choice. We are also happy to provide speakers and materials to promote a greater understanding of the National Labor Relations Act.
A settlement between the major investor in a defunct Pennsylvania manufacturer of camper trailers and its former unionized workforce has resulted in the withdrawal of charges that the company’s abrupt closure in January 2011 violated federal labor laws. Private equity firm Blackstreet Capital bought the manufacturing plant in 2008 and renamed it FTCA, Inc.. Under the agreement, FTCA, Inc.’s parent company, FTCA, LLC, and Blackstreet Capital will cover employees’ backpay and medical expenses incurred as a result of losing insurance coverage.
