In furtherance of the National Labor Relations Board’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility program, the Agency has issued an Inclusive Writing Guide for Agency employees to follow in internal and external writing relating to case handling, administrative matters, and other Agency communications. It also serves as a resource for members of the public to consider when drafting submissions and communications to the NLRB. It is anticipated that this Guide will be updated periodically to reflect evolving best practices.
Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year.
