Unit Description: Thermo King production and maintenance employees are represented by the USWA, Local 2175. Since March 2002, Thermo King has provided space to Hussmann Corporation, grocery store refrigeration case manufacturer, who has their own separate management, administration and labor relations. Hussmann service technicians are represented by Pipefitters, Local 539. Shortly after moving in, Hussmann built storage racks for use within their warehouse. The Steelworkers (Thermo King) claim that the Pipefitters (Hussmann) performed Steelworkers unit work, and Hussmann contends the racks were a necessary fixture built by and for Hussmann within their space, and the non-utility work was not within Thermo King's jursidiction.
