Voting Unit (Unit A):VOTING GROUP - UNIT A (PROFESSIONAL UNIT): Included: All full-time and regular part-time • Arts and Humanities Librarians; • Data Science and Digital Scholarship Coordinators; • Digital and Print Collections Archivists; • Digital Initiatives Coordinators; • Electronic Resources and Metadata Librarians; • Heads, Asian Library; • Interdisciplinary Studies Librarians; • Scholarly Communications and Open Publishing Coordinators; • Social Sciences Librarians; • Special Collections Public Services Librarians; • STEM Librarians; • Teaching & Outreach Librarians; • Research Services Librarians; and • Resource Sharing Librarians employed by the Employer at its facility currently located at 800 North Dartmouth Avenue, Claremont, California. Excluded: All other employees, Western Americana Manuscripts Librarians, Heads of Cataloging and Metadata; Heads of Collection Management; Heads of Information Literacy & Student Engagement; Heads of User Services; non-professional employees, office clerical employees, confidential employees, guards, managerial employees, and supervisors as defined in the Act. Unit A Two questions shall appear on the ballot for the professional employees in Unit A: 1. “Do you wish to be included with non-professional employees in a unit for the purposes of collective bargaining?” The choices on the ballot will be "Yes" or "No". 2. “Do you wish to be represented for purposes of collective bargaining by California Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO?” The choices on the ballot will be "Yes" or "No". If a majority of the professional employees voting in Unit A vote "Yes" to the first question, indicating their desire to be included in a unit with non-professional employees, they will be so included, and their votes on the second question will be counted together with the votes of the non-professional employees in Unit B to decide the question concerning representation for the overall unit consisting of the employees in Units A and B. If on the other hand, a majority of the professional employees voting in Unit A do not vote "Yes" to the first question, their ballots will be counted separately to decide the question concerning representation in a separate Unit A.
