Beth Tursell promoted to Assistant to the General Counsel in Operations-Management

National Labor Relations Board Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon announced the appointment of Deputy Assistant to the General Counsel, Elizabeth Tursell as Assistant to the General Counsel in the Division of Operations-Management of the Office of the General Counsel in Washington.
In her new position, Ms. Tursell will assist the Acting General Counsel in managing the 32 Regional Offices of the NLRB and providing programmatic support for the national enforcement and administration of the National Labor Relations Act. Prior to her promotion, Ms. Tursell served as a Deputy to the Assistant General Counsel in the Division of Operations-Management working in District 3 which covers 8 Regional Offices.
Ms. Tursell began working at the Agency in 1978 as a coop in the Detroit Regional office. She joined the NLRB in 1980 as a field examiner in the Baltimore Regional office. In Baltimore, she was promoted to the Compliance Officer position in 1996. In 2004, she joined the Division of Operations-Management staff when she was promoted to the Deputy to the Assistant General Counsel position.

Beth Tursell is one of the Agency’s experts in compliance law. Her expertise has served the Agency and the field offices, where most compliance issues arise, very well. She is also a gifted and creative manager. I am very pleased that in making this appointment, Beth’s talents will be even more broadly utilized and shared.
A native of Warren, MI, Ms. Tursell received a B.A. degree in business administration from Wayne State University in 1979 and a M.A. degree in Administrative Science from Johns Hopkins University in 1983.
