Dorothy Foley named Deputy Regional Attorney in Newark

National Labor Relations Board Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon today announced the appointment of Dorothy Foley as Deputy Regional Attorney of the NLRB’s Regional Office in Newark, New Jersey (Region 22). In her new position, she will assist Regional Director Michael Lightner in the administration and enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act in northern and central New Jersey.
Ms. Foley graduated from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1988. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a Masters in English from Northeastern University and a Masters in Political Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  Ms. Foley started her career with the NLRB in 1989 as a field attorney in Region 22 and has continued serving in the Newark office since that time.  She became a Supervisory Attorney in 2009.
The National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency vested with the power to safeguard employees’ rights to organize and to determine whether to have unions as their bargaining representative. The Agency also acts to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions.
