Washington, D.C. – National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Acting Chairman Philip A. Miscimarra and General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. have named Jennifer A. Hadsall the new Regional Director for the Agency’s Region 18 Office in Minneapolis, MN. The Region 18 Office is responsible for conducting elections, investigating unfair labor practice charges, and protecting the right of workers to act collectively to improve their wages and working conditions throughout the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and most of Iowa and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
With nearly 15 years of service to the NLRB, Ms. Hadsall most recently served as the Assistant to the Regional Director in the Minneapolis (Region 18) Regional Office. She succeeds Marlin O. Osthus who recently retired from the Agency.
Ms. Hadsall received a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She began her career with the NLRB in 2003 as a Field Examiner in Region 18. She was promoted to Resident Officer in Des Moines in 2010 and to Assistant to the Regional Director in 2014.
The NLRB is an independent federal agency enforcing the National Labor Relations Act, which guarantees the right of most private sector employees to organize, to engage in group efforts to improve their wages and working conditions, to determine whether to have unions as their bargaining representative, to engage in collective bargaining, and to refrain from any of these activities. It acts to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions.
