Jill Coffman appointed Regional Attorney in San Francisco

National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon announced the appointment of career attorney Jill Coffman as Regional Attorney of the NLRB’s Regional Office in San Francisco, California (Region 20). In her new position, Ms. Coffman will assist Regional Director Joseph F. Frankl in the processing of representation and unfair labor practice cases filed under the National Labor Relations Act in northern California.
Ms. Coffman is a graduate of LeMoyne College, in Syracuse, NY where she majored in Business Administration. Following graduation from Washington University Law School in St. Louis in 1989, she was in private practice in Washington, D.C. Ms. Coffman joined the NLRB in 1992 as an attorney on the staff of then-Chairman James Stephens. She transferred to Region 20 in San Francisco in 1996 and was promoted to Supervisory Attorney in 2005. In 2007, Ms. Coffman was appointed as a Deputy Regional Attorney.
The National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency vested with the power to safeguard employees’ rights to organize and to determine whether to have unions as their bargaining representative. The Agency also acts to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers.
