John Giannopoulos named Deputy Assistant General Counsel in the Division of Operations-Management

Richard F. Griffin Jr., General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board, today announced the appointment of Supervisory Field Attorney John Giannopoulos as Deputy Assistant General Counsel in the Division of Operations-Management of the Office of the General Counsel in Washington. In his new position, Mr. Giannopoulos will assist the General Counsel in managing the 26 Regional Offices of the NLRB and will provide programmatic support for the national enforcement and administration of the National Labor Relations Act.
Mr. Giannopoulos received his B.A. degree from the University of Utah in 1988, a M.B.A. degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1989, and a J.D. degree from the University of Utah in 1995.  After beginning his legal career with a law firm, Mr. Giannopoulos was hired as a Field Attorney in the NLRB’s Phoenix, Arizona Regional Office in 1999 and was promoted to Supervisory Attorney in 2011.
The NLRB administers and enforces the National Labor Relations Act. It investigates and remedies unfair labor practices and conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees desire union representation.
