National Labor Relations Board Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon announced the appointment of Leonard (Pete) Perez, a career Agency employee with more than 33 years of service, as Officer in Charge of the NLRB’s Subregional Office in Peoria, IL (Subregion 33). In his new position, he will assist Regional Director Claude T. Harrell, Jr., of Region 14 (Saint Louis) in the processing of representation and unfair labor practice cases filed under the National Labor Relations Act in most of central and northern Illinois and the tier of Iowa counties along the Mississippi River.
Mr. Perez received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1976. He began working for the Agency as a field examiner in the Saint Louis Regional Office in 1978. In 2003, he was promoted to Deputy Officer-in-Charge for the Peoria Subregional Office.
The NLRB administers and enforces the National Labor Relations Act. It conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees desire union representation and investigates and remedies unfair labor practices.
