National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon announced the appointment of career attorney Leticia Pena as Deputy Regional Attorney of the NLRB’s Regional Office in Denver, Colorado (Region 27). In her new position, Ms. Pena will assist Regional Director Wanda Pate Jones in the processing of representation and unfair labor practice cases filed under the National Labor Relations Act in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and certain counties in Nebraska, Idaho and Montana.
Acting General Counsel Solomon said Ms. Pena is ideally suited for the job, given her extensive background as a labor lawyer in her nearly 21 years of service with the NLRB. “She is a skilled and dedicated attorney who has demonstrated talent as a problem solver and a mentor. I am confident she will provide strong leadership as a manager in the Denver Regional Office.”
Ms. Pena is a graduate of the University of Colorado, where she majored in Spanish and Sociology. Following graduation from Antioch Law School in 1983, she entered the private practice of law. She joined the NLRB in 1990 as a Field Attorney in the San Francisco Regional Office (Region 20) and subsequently transferred to the Denver Regional Office. In 2002, she was promoted to Supervisory Attorney in the Denver Regional Office.
The National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency vested with the power to safeguard employees’ rights to organize and to determine whether to have unions as their bargaining representative.
