Washington, D.C. -- National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. has named Linda Leslie the Regional Attorney for the Agency’s Region 3 Office in Buffalo. In this position, Ms. Leslie will assist the Regional Director in the enforcement and administration of the National Labor Relations Act in most of New York State, including Buffalo and Albany.
A native of Buffalo, Ms. Leslie received both her B.A. in history and her J.D. from the University at Buffalo in 1995 and 1999 respectively. Upon completing law school, she joined the NLRB’s Buffalo Regional Office as a field attorney, a position she held for 15 years until this promotion.
The NLRB is an independent federal agency tasked with enforcing the National Labor Relations Act, which guarantees the right of most private sector employees to organize, to engage in group efforts to improve their wages and working conditions, to determine whether to have unions as their bargaining representative, to engage in collective bargaining, and to refrain from any of these activities. It conducts secret-ballot elections regarding representation of workers and acts to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions.
