NLRB Chairman Mark Gaston Pearce and Acting General Counsel Lafe E. Solomon have announced the appointment of Margaret J. Diaz as Regional Director in the Tampa Regional Office (Region 12). Ms. Diaz will be responsible for enforcement of the nation’s primary labor law covering private sector employees in the State of Florida (except for 12 western counties) and in 21 counties in southern Georgia. Ms. Diaz received her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Florida State University in 1973. She was awarded her J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law in 1976. Shortly thereafter, she began her career with the NLRB in the Chicago Regional Office (Region 13) and later transferred to the Tampa office. Before being appointed Regional Director, she served as a Trial Specialist, Supervisory Attorney, and in 1997 became Regional Attorney in the Tampa office. As Regional Attorney, her duties included supervision of litigation.
