Mary Elizabeth Mattimore Named NLRB Regional Attorney in Buffalo

National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. announced the appointment of Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Mattimore as the Regional Attorney of the NLRB’s Regional Office in Buffalo, New York (Region 3).  In her new position, Ms. Mattimore will assist Regional Director Rhonda P. Ley in the enforcement and administration of the National Labor Relations Act, in several counties in Vermont and all New York State counties except the New York City metropolitan area serviced by Regions 2 and 29.
A career NLRB employee, Ms. Mattimore has been serving as Deputy Regional Attorney in Region 3.  She succeeds Michael J. Israel who retired last year.
Ms. Mattimore graduated from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Biology. She received her Masters in Natural Sciences and her J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is admitted to practice in New York State.  After graduation from law school, Ms. Mattimore worked in private practice for six years before starting with the Agency at the Buffalo Regional Office as a Field Attorney in 1995. She was later promoted to Supervisory Field Attorney in 2007 and then to Deputy Regional Attorney in 2009.
The National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency vested with the power to safeguard employee rights to organize, to act collectively, and to determine whether to have unions as their bargaining representative. The Agency also acts to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions.
