NLRB Expands Web Resources in 17 Languages

The NLRB published a series of new resources on its website on employee rights and employer and union responsibilities under the National Labor Relations Act in 17 languages. The NLRB’s website now hosts “Know Your Rights” documents, information on immigrant worker rights, and instructions on how to e-file charges/petitions in Español - Spanish, العربية - Arabic, 中文 (繁體中文) - Chinese (Traditional), 中文 (简体中文) - Chinese (Simplified), Français - French, Kreyòl ayisyen - Haitian Creole, हिंदी - Hindi, Hmong - Hmong, 한국어 - Korean, Polski - Polish, Português - Portuguese, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ - Punjabi, Pусский - Russian, Somali - Somali, Tagalog - Tagalog, اردو - Urdu, and Tiếng Việt - Vietnamese.
The NLRB already offers multilingual assistance to workers in filing unfair labor practice charges and petitions. Its hotline, 844-762-6572, allows workers to immediately request assistance in English and Spanish. The NLRB will also provide language interpretation in other languages upon request. Now workers will be able to access critical written NLRB resources in additional languages.
“Knowledge is power,” said General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo. “It’s been one of my priorities as General Counsel to educate workers about their rights. Workers need to know that the Agency will protect them when they exercise their rights, no matter what language they speak.”
As part of the NLRB’s initiative to reach Limited English proficient communities, the NLRB previously created a Spanish-language website with information about the National Labor Relations Board and launched a Spanish language e-filing service on its website for users to file unfair labor practice charges and petitions for union elections.
Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year.
