NLRB Region 22 (Newark) opened for business as usual without interruption on Monday morning, August 29, 2011.
Though the devastating effects of Hurricane Irene were felt in all parts of northern New Jersey, Regional personnel arrived to resume regular operations at the office's scheduled opening time (8:30 a.m. EDT). Agents, Support personnel, supervisors and managers from central New Jersey to the northernmost residential areas made their way through waterlogged roads and tied-up traffic, in the face of delayed and cancelled public transportation options, to their work stations to administer the National Labor Relations Act.
