Patricia K. Nachand Named Regional Director for Indianapolis

Washington, D.C.—National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Chairman Mark Gaston Pearce and General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. have named Patricia K. Nachand the new Regional Director for the Agency’s Region 25 Office in Indianapolis. In her new position, Ms. Nachand will be responsible for enforcement of one of the nation’s primary labor laws covering private sector employees in Indiana and parts of Illinois, Iowa, and Kentucky.
A career NLRB employee, Ms. Nachand has been serving as Assistant Regional Director in Region 25. She succeeds Rik Lineback, who retired from the Agency earlier this year.
A native of the Indianapolis, Indiana area, Ms. Nachand received her B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Indianapolis in 1983 and 1997, respectively. She began her Field Examiner career in the Indianapolis office in 1981after first working for the Agency as a receptionist, stenographer, and labor-management relations aide while attending college at night. In 1991 she was promoted to the Compliance Officer position, and then was promoted to the Assistant Regional Director position in 2003.
The National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency vested with the power to safeguard employees’ rights to organize and to determine whether to have unions as their bargaining representative. The Agency also acts to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions.
