Paula Sawyer Named NLRB Regional Attorney in Baltimore

National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. announced the appointment of Paula Sawyer as the Regional Attorney of the NLRB’s Regional Office in Baltimore, Maryland (Region 5). In her new position, Ms. Sawyer will assist Regional Director Charles Posner in the administration and enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act in Maryland (with the exception of Allegany and Garret counties), the District of Columbia, and parts of Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
A career NLRB employee, Ms. Sawyer has been serving as Deputy Regional Attorney in Region 5. She succeeds Al Palewicz, who retired earlier this year.
A native of Utica, New York, Ms. Sawyer received her B.S. from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 1977, and her J.D. with honors from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1980. She began her career with the NLRB as a Field Attorney in the Winston-Salem Office in 1980. In 1985 she transferred to the Baltimore Regional Office, and was promoted to Deputy Regional Attorney in 1997.
