The winter months have been a busy time for Region 13’s outreach efforts. Our staff provided presentations for various organizations and community groups. Below are a couple of the highlights.
On November 13, 2013, Liz Galliano and Liz Cortez provided an overview of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) to the U.S. Department of Labor- Office of Federal Contracts Compliance Programs and Wage and Hour Divisions.
Throughout November and December, Lisa Friedheim-Weis taught a course on the NLRA to a group of undergraduate students at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
On November 26, 2013, Renee McKinney provided a presentation on social media and employer investigations under the NLRA to a group of human resource professionals.
On December 17, 2013, Christina Hill and Catherine Homolka provided an overview of the NLRA to the staff of the Chicago Commission on Human Relations.
Regional Director Peter Ohr has also been busy providing several presentations. Peter spoke on immigration issues under the NLRA at the ABA Labor and Employment Conference. Peter also provided information on the NLRA to the National Asian Pacific Bar Association and the Institute for Inclusions in the Legal Profession. Additionally, Peter spoke on social media issues and the NLRA to a group of human resource professionals.
