Region 22 Issues Complaint Against Oradell Health Care Center

Region 22 Director J. Michael Lightner issued an Order Consolidating Cases, Consolidated Complaint and Notice of Hearing on March 26, 2013 against Oradell Health Care Center located in Oradell, New Jersey.  The charges were filed by 1199 SEIU, United Healthcare Workers East.  The Complaint alleges the Employer violated Section 8(a)(1) of the Act by creating the impression among its employees that their union activities were under surveillance by the Employer; interrogated employees about their union membership, activities and sympathies; asked employees to ascertain and disclose to the Employer the union membership, activities and sympathies of other employees; and, during a mandatory meeting opposing unions, the Employer showed to its employees an Employer produced video containing its employees' images without the employees' consent to have their images used and without providing a disclaimer stating that the video did not reflect the views of the employees appearing in it.  The Hearing before the Administrative Law Judge is scheduled to take place in the Region 22 office on May 14, 2013.
