Rosalind E. Hill named Deputy Assistant General Counsel in NLRB

National Labor Relations Board Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon announced the appointment of career attorney Rosalind E. Hill as Deputy Assistant General Counsel in the Division of Operations-Management of the Office of the General Counsel in Washington. In her new position, Mrs. Hill will assist the Acting General Counsel in managing the 32 Regional Offices of the NLRB and provide programmatic support for the national enforcement and administration of the National Labor Relations Act. Prior to her promotion, Mrs. Hill had served as Deputy Regional Attorney in the NLRB Regional Office in Memphis, Tennessee.
In announcing the appointment, Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon said, “Rosalind Hill’s broad understanding of Agency operations, her significant litigation experience and strong managerial skills will serve her well in her new position. She will be a valuable addition to the staff of Division of Operations-Management.”
Prior to joining the National Labor Relations Board, Mrs. Hill was employed as an Assistant Attorney General in the Shelby County Tennessee Attorney General’s Office where she prosecuted misdemeanor and felony preliminary hearing cases. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee in 1979 and received her Juris Doctor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis in 1989. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar and the Ben F. Jones Chapter of the National Bar Associations. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Shelby County Chapter of the American Red Cross and A More Excellent Way.
The National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency vested with the power to safeguard employee rights to organize and to determine whether to have unions as their bargaining representative. The agency also acts to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions.
