Valerie T. Hardy-Mahoney named Regional Attorney for the Oakland Regional Office

National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. announced the appointment of Valerie T. Hardy-Mahoney as the Regional Attorney of the NLRB’s Regional office in Oakland, California (Region 32). In her new position, Ms. Hardy-Mahoney will assist Regional Director George Velastegui in the administration and enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act in portions of northern California and the northern half of Nevada.
A career NLRB employee, Ms. Hardy-Mahoney has been serving as Deputy Regional Attorney in Region 32, Oakland.  She succeeds George Velastegui, who was promoted to Regional Director. 
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ms. Hardy-Mahoney received her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and her J.D. degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.  She began her career at the NLRB's Oakland Regional Office in 1982, as a Field Attorney.  She was promoted to Supervisory Field Attorney in 2008 and to Deputy Regional Attorney in 2010.
