David Turner Named Assistant to the Regional Director in NLRB Region 3-Buffalo

Today, the National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Jennifer A. Abruzzo announced the appointment of David Turner as the Assistant to the Regional Director of the NLRB’s Region 3 office. With the Regional Office in Buffalo, New York and a Resident Office in Albany, New York, Region 3 is responsible for conducting elections, investigating unfair labor practice charges, and protecting the rights of employees in most counties of New York (outside New York City and surrounding areas) and Vermont. In his new position, Mr. Turner will assist Regional Director Linda M. Leslie in the administration and enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Turner received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Penn State University and a Master of Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. Mr. Turner began his career as a Field Examiner in the NLRB’s Albany Resident Office in 2000 and he worked previously as Compliance Officer, Supervisory Compliance Officer, and Supervisory Field Examiner.
Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year. Region 3 serves areas in New York and Vermont from its Regional Office in Buffalo and its Resident Office in Albany.
