On Sunday, September 4th, from 10am to 12pm ET, the National Labor Relations Board will join the Consulate of México, the Consulate of Guatemala, the Cincinnati Interfaith Workers Center, and the Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division for a workers’ informative resource event during Labor Rights Week.
Labor Rights Week is a joint initiative between the governments of the United States and Mexico scheduled the week before Labor Day to increase awareness in the Mexican and Latino communities about the rights of workers and the resources available.
The Cincinnati event will feature presentations from the participating organizations as well as additional workers’ rights and community resources, including a COVID-19 vaccine clinic.
The Workers Resource Event is located at the Peaslee Neighborhood Center in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, 215 East 14th Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. For more information, the public can call the Cincinnati Interfaith Workers Center at 513-621-5991.
Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year. Region 9 serves Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia from its Regional Office in Cincinnati.
