Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year. Region 9 serves Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia from its Regional Office in Cincinnati.

Eric V. Oliver Named Regional Attorney for NLRB's Cincinnati Office
Richard F. Griffin, Jr., General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board announced the appointment of career attorney Eric V. Oliver as Regional Attorney of the Agency’s office in Cincinnati, Ohio (Region 9). In his new position, he will assist Regional Director Garey Lindsay in the enforcement and administration of the National Labor Relations Act in southern Ohio, eastern Kentucky, southern West Virginia and Clark, Dearborn and Floyd Counties in Indiana. Mr. Oliver succeeds Mr. Lindsay, who was promoted to his current position as Regional Director last year.
Informational Meeting on New Representation Case Rules
NOTICE OF INFORMATIONAL MEETING CONCERNING NEW NLRB REPRESENTATION CASE RULES
New NLRB rules for processing Representation petitions are scheduled to go into effect on April 14, 2015. In order to acquaint employers, labor organizations and legal practitioners about the new rules, NLRB Region 9 will be conducting an informational meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Regional Office in Cincinnati.
Garey E. Lindsay Named Regional Director of NLRB's Cincinnati Office
National Labor Relations Board Chairman Mark Gaston Pearce and General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. announced the appointment of career attorney Garey E. Lindsay as Regional Director of the Agency’s Regional Office in Cincinnati, Ohio (Region 9). Mr. Lindsay succeeds Gary W. Muffley, who recently retired. In his new position, Mr. Lindsay will be responsible for enforcement of one of the nation’s primary labor laws covering private sector employees in southern Ohio, eastern Kentucky, southern West Virginia and Clark, Dearborn and Floyd Counties in Indiana.
