Melissa M. Olivero
Judge
Judge Olivero was appointed in February of 2013. She previously worked for 6 years as a trial attorney in the NLRB’s Peoria office. She also spent several years in private practice and as a criminal prosecutor. She is a veteran of the U.S. Army and Army Reserves; she served 8 years as a platoon leader and company commander, attaining the rank of captain before her honorable discharge. She graduated from the University of Michigan and received her law degree magna cum laude from the Northern Illinois University College of Law. She was an SSA judge for 2 years before transferring to the NLRB Judges Division.
