Susan A. Flynn

Judge

Judge Flynn was appointed in April of 2013. She previously served as an SSA judge for 4 years, including 2 years as a hearing office chief judge in Philadelphia.  For the prior 22 years, she was an administrative judge with the EEOC, including 15 years as the chief judge in the Philadelphia District, responsible for the Philadelphia, Baltimore and Cleveland offices.  At the EEOC, she was very involved in outreach and training.  She was one of the authors of the EEOC AJ Handbook and one of the organizers of the annual EXCEL conference, a national conference for EEO practitioners.  Initially after graduation, she was a VISTA volunteer in upstate New York; she was then an Assistant Public Defender in Bucks County, PA; subsequently a staff attorney with Bucks County Legal Aid; and later the Domestic Relations Solicitor/Family Court Administrator for the Bucks County Court.  She received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from the University of Delaware and her law degree from Villanova University, earning an award for public service.
