Region 22 Issues Complaint and Notice of Hearing Against A&B HVAC Services, Inc.

Region 22 Director J. Michael Lightner issued a Complaint and Notice of Hearing on April 29, 2013 against A&B HVAC Services, Inc. located in Somerset, New Jersey.  The Complaint alleges the Employer violated Section 8(a)(1) of the Act by interrogating its employees regarding their union membership, activities and sympathies and impliedly threatening employees with unspecified reprisals if they supported the Union or otherwise engaged in union activities.  A hearing in this matter is scheduled to take place before an Administrative Law Judge at the Region 22 office on June 11, 2013. 

Region 22 Issues Complaint and Notice of Hearing Against Chapin Hill at Red Bank

Region 22 Director J. Michael Lightner issued a Complaint and Notice of Hearing against Chapin Hill at Red Bank on March 28, 2013.  The charge was filed by Local 707 Heath Employees Alliance Rights & Trades (HEART).  The Complaint alleges the Employer violated Section 8(a)(5) of the Act by failing and refusing to furnish necessary and relevant requested information to the Union.  A hearing before an Administrative Law Judge is scheduled to take place in the Region 22 office on May 7, 2013.
 

Region 22 Issues Complaint and Notice of Hearing Against Pomptonian Food Service

Region 22 Director J. Michael Lightner issued a Complaint and Notice of Hearing against Pomptonian Food Service located in Verona, New Jersey on March 28, 2013.  The charge was filed by Service Employees International Union, Local 32BJ.  The Complaint alleges the Employer violated Section 8(a)(5) of the Act by failing and refusing to bargain collectively with the Union for a successor collective bargaining agreement covering a bargaining unit of food service workers.  A Hearing before an Administrative Law Judge is scheduled to take place in the Region 22 office on May 21, 2013.

NLRB Certifies Carpenters Union Win Against Rival Dockbuilders for 1,000 Workers

Region 22 Issues Complaint Against Conti Enterprises, Inc.

Region 22 issued a complaint against Conti Enterprises, Inc. on February 19, 2013.  The complaint alleges that Conti Enterprises, a company that provides infrastructure development services,  violated the National Labor Relations Act when it discharged an employee working at its Kearny, New Jersey jobsite in retaliation for the employee assisting a Union and engaging in protected, concerted activities.  A trial before an Administrative Law Judge is scheduled for April 2, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Region 22 office.

Dorothy Foley named Deputy Regional Attorney in Newark

National Labor Relations Board Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon today announced the appointment of Dorothy Foley as Deputy Regional Attorney of the NLRB’s Regional Office in Newark, New Jersey (Region 22). In her new position, she will assist Regional Director Michael Lightner in the administration and enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act in northern and central New Jersey.
