About NLRB

Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year. Region 31 serves areas in California from its Regional Office in Los Angeles.

Region 31 Participates in Labor Rights Week 2016

On August 29, 2016, Regional Director of Region 31 Mori Rubin participated in the Opening Ceremony of the Mexican Consulate’s Labor Rights Week in Los Angeles. The Opening Ceremony included presentations by leaders of local labor unions, non-profits, and governmental agencies as well as the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Consulate General of Mexico and Regions 21 and 31 of the NLRB.

34th Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference

Regions 31 and 21 of the NLRB, along with the Orange County Labor and Employment Relations Association and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, held the 34th Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference in Anaheim on July 27, 2016.
The conference was attended by individuals representing unions, union counsel, businesses, management counsel, public entities, neutrals, academics, government agencies, and students. The keynote speaker was the Hon. Mark Gaston Pearce, Chairman, National Labor Relations Board, who gave a talk about the NLRB and updates on new case law.
