Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year. Region 4 serves areas in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware from its Regional Office in Philadelphia.
Richard Heller Appointed Regional Attorney for Philadelphia Office
Washington, D.C. -- National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. has named Richard P. Heller the Regional Attorney for the Agency’s Region 4 Office in Philadelphia. In this position, Mr. Heller will assist Regional Director Dennis Walsh in the enforcement and administration of the National Labor Relations Act in eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.
NLRB Philadelphia Office to Close Friday, September 25 during Papal Visit
In light of the expected large influx of visitors to Philadelphia PA in the days leading up to the Papal visit to that city scheduled for September 26 and 27, 2015, the Agency’s Philadelphia Regional Office will not be open to the public on Friday, September 25, 2015.
The Philadelphia Regional Office will not schedule representation or unfair labor practice hearings from Thursday, September 24 through and including Monday, September 28. Moreover, the Regional Office will be unable to receive mail or other deliveries on Friday, September 25.
R-case Rules Presentation to Local ABA Practice & Procedure Committee
On April 13, 2015, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m, Region 4 will make a presentation on the R-case rules to the Local ABA Practice and Procedure Committee at the ABA Conference Center at 1101 Market Street, 11th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Please register by Thursday, April 9, 2015 as registrations received after that date will not be added to the building security list which may cause delays in the check-in process.
